Loving the Questions: A Summer Sermon Series, July 2–September 3. Why Do Bad Things Happen to Good People? Who Will Be Saved? How Do We Live with Hope in a Fearful World? How Do I Know God’s Will for My Life? These are but a few of the questions with which people of faith have wrestled for generations, and we’re planning to wrestle with such questions as these this summer at Highland. See Highlights, p. 3, for details.

The Global Service Committee is working with World Relief to hold a training for Highland members who would like to be part of a Good Neighbor Team which would provide support for a refugee family in our community. The training will be Sunday, July 9 from 11:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Lunch will be provided. Please contact Megan Bryant or Debbie Layman to sign up or for more information.

Faith & Film: RV - Monday, July 10, 7:00 p.m., Location TBD. Join us for this monthly gathering for adults as we reflect on the visual parables of movies. Our movie for July will be RV, a fun-filled adventure that encourages us to think about what really matters in our family lives. If you are interested in taking part, please email Randy Harris at rharris@highlandpres.org to re-ceive additional details. We won’t be watching the movie when we gather, so you’ll need to see it ahead of time. A copy of each month’s movie can be borrowed from the church.

This summer we will gather on one Sunday a month to watch a documentary together, share light snacks and discuss what we’ve seen. The Congregational Care Committee has a variety of topics picked out with panelists to deepen our reflections. We will gather in the Ardmore Room of the Activity Building on Sunday, July 23 at 4:00 p.m. for a documentary on laughter. Be prepared to laugh! All ages are welcome. We hope you will plan to join us!

The Global Service Committee is hosting a gathering for local refugee families Saturday, July 29, 2-4:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. It will be a time for conversation (practicing English!), snacks, and games for the kids. All are welcome to join in on the fun. Please contact Megan Bryant or Debbie Layman if you have questions. Watch for more information on how you can be involved!
