Highland’s Garden

In June of 2009, Highland elected to take a small, unused portion of our playground and to turn it into a community garden. Every summer, Highland members volunteer to plant and tend a wonderful crop of fruits and vegetables. The garden serves as an educational tool for those interested in learning about keeping a garden at home or the slow food movement. Produce is shared with our Moore School Food Pantry and other community agencies, including the Samaritan Inn and El Buen Pastor.

2015 update: Highland’s garden has new raised beds this year thanks to an Eagle Scout project led by David Cesta. We are excited about the ways this will impact our gardening. We need a team of planners for the garden; if you are interested in working on this project, please contact Debbie (724-6303). This team will oversee and orchestrate but will not be responsible for all the work! Thank you for considering.
