Bad Faith 2026 Screening – July 19, 4:00 p.m., Highland’s Fellowship Hall
Following the recent class, Envisioning a World Without Christian Nationalism, the Adult Christian Education invites you to a newly revised and updated documentary called Bad Faith 2026. As Presbyterians, our General Assembly has long affirmed that our faith calls us to engage in the public square while firmly protecting the separation of church and state. To help us navigate these complex times, the Adult Christian Education Committee and the planning team for the recent class, Envisioning a World without Christian Nationalism, invite you to a special screening of Bad Faith 2026 on Sunday, July 19 at 4:00 p.m. The Rev. Dr. Jennifer Copeland, Director of the NC State Council of Churches will be present to facilitate discussion and lead a time of Q&A.
This documentary provides an eye-opening look at the history and political inner workings of Christian Nationalism. Afterward, we will gather for a guided discussion to process the film through the lens of faith, exploring how we can actively promote Christian love, truth, and democratic values in our community. Harvest of Dignity, August 16, 4:00 p.m., Ardmore Room
Join us as we watch the PBS Documentary: Harvest of Dignity. This film is about the lives, conditions, and issues facing Migrant workers. This may be an eye-opening experience for many and we hope you take this opportunity to learn more about our neighbors.
Following the documentary, we will have a panel discussion led by experts:
* Dr. Andrea Gomez Cervantes, PhD Asst. professor Dept. of Sociology, Latin American and Latino Studies Affiliate, Women’s Gender, and Sexuality Studies Affiliate Wake Forest University and Co-Founder and Co-Director Comunidades Confined Lab.
* Eirian Avila, LCMHC-A with Salud Mental Health PLLC who isa bilingual counselor seeing farm workers via telehealth with a wide variety of exposure to different stories, dynamics through three sites including north and west towards the mountains and one south going towards Wilmington.
* Dr. Taylor J. Arnold, PhD, MA Asst. Professor Department of Family and Community Medicine and Asst. Director of Community and Stakeholder Research, Wake Forest School of Medicine.
